Inverters

Inverters generate 240V AC power from a standard 12V or 24V DC battery, which can be used to operate most AC appliances including:

Radios TVs VCRs DVD players Charging stations Laptops Kitchen appliances Power tools Medical equipment Lights and motors.

Generally it is more economical to purchase and operate an inverter than to purchase dedicated 12V (or 24V) appliances - particularly given that one inverter will operate a variety of appliances in boats, 4WDs, caravans or shacks.

There are two types of inverters: ‘Modified Sine Wave' and ‘True Sine Wave', generally available in several sizes.

Some appliances will not operate correctly on a modified sine wave. To check whether you need ‘True or Modified Sine Wave' please consult your product instructions booklet or contact the manufacturer.
